We are visiting Ameland, one of the islands along the northern border of the Netherlands. Once we get to the beach it turns out we are not the only guests here. We take a break from the walk and are entertained by the sandpipers running up and down the beach. Their legs moving so quickly…they follow the ever-changing water line looking for shrimp and other small things to eat. Then, we notice a flock of Snow Buntings! These tourist-birds have traveled from far: Scandinavia and Greenland! They are a bunch of busybodies! Altogether they take off, like a cloud of butterflies, only to settle down again nearby.
