Also referred to as wood burning, or pokerwork, Pyrography or pyrogravure is the art of decorating wood or other materials with burn marks resulting from the controlled application of a heated object such as a poker. The term means “writing with fire”, from the Greek pur (fire) and graphos (writing). Our Acorn Studios artisans were inspired by this centuries old skill and have created an outstanding homage to the art of wood burning.
